TubeMogul.com Test
I have begun making video tutorials for some coding and web development tasks I’ll be demonstrating. But, instead of just slapping the videos up on the blog here and using my own bandwidth, I want to take advantage of these online video services.
And, instead of uploading my videos to each service one at a time… YouTube, Google Video, then Yahoo, etc., I’m testing out a new service called Tube Mogul that promises to upload my videos to several online video sites at one time, AND give me the ability to track everything from one place.
Sounds pretty cool huh? Well, we’ll see.
Here’s the link to Tube Mogul if you’re curious:

I’ll let y’all know the results of my little test and if the extra effort ends up being worthwhile, just as soon as I get that first video posted here at the blog.
Sneak Peek: The first video tutorial will be on how to make 3D rollover buttons, like the one on my subscribe form in the sidebar to the right, using just CSS and without images.

TubeMogul.com test results: My initial tests at TubeMogul.com didn’t go as well as I had hoped. First there were problems with my file format because I usually produce my screen-capture videos as Flash. I had to reprocess everything as AVI to upload it to Tube Mogul. Then I found out that my file size was too large to easily upload, at just over 100MB. I was able to get it uploaded anyway (they technically accept files up to 300MB), however at those file sizes apparently many of the online video services reject the file. It finally uploaded successfully to just one online video service, Google Video. In the future I will only use tubemogul.com for short videos with a small file size.

Hey Mark,
At least you gave it a shot.
I know some folks who are very happy with Traffic Geyser.
Then again, you might be able to get interns to take care of this task for you
Cheers!
